We are a little spoilt for choice here with all of the beautiful beaches so if we were to be really picky we would say Mullins beach itself is a little narrow and most of the sand is taken up with sun-bed rentals. That said finding a great place to spend an entire day is close to impossible yet Mullins caters for just that and remains one of the best beach-bars on the west coast. Expect to return often!
Since being taken over by Jason and Roy (of Loan Star fame) the formally stuffy Mani’s is now a relaxed and brilliant place to have lunch and sip away a sundown or two. Always buzzing and full, it’s family-friendly and successfully mixes that beach feeling with an excellent terrace and some very good drinks. Towards the entrance you will notice the football on TV so you can let the kids run around whilst watching Chelsea getting a run for their money. The food isn’t bad at all and there are daily specials on the massive chalk-board in addition to their already extensive menu covering everything between Bajan specialities and Caesar Salads. Try the apple crumble with coconut ice-cream if you do nothing else, it’s magical.
Sunday evenings are all about live music at sunset and they’re very popular so although you may have to fight your way to the bar it’s not a bad way to end the day. What we have to write is that despite the crowded bar and the very busy tables you always manage to get great personable service and always faster than you think.
