The Beach House

The Beach House Barbados

Did you know that every Sunday The Beach House offers a lunch buffet for 45 BDS? And did you know it’s good? It feels like an eerily well-kept secret where you can get away from everything-Barbados and hide up in this diamond in the rough. Next door’s Drift Bar has its surprise sushi nights but very little has ever been said about The Beach House, so we’re saying it now.

The menu is as Bajan as you could hope for and their mac pie has more ingredients than we could understand. The result is good. It seems to taste of mac pie but with some magic stowed away in its depths. The crispy flying fish is better than most and the vegetables are a rare find. We tasted their children’s menu (no comment) and the hot-dog is a hot-dog but nothing would go wrong if they spruced it up a little with crispy onions and relish. The skin-on fries, are excellent so try to wrangle some from the waitresses because they’re worth the detour.

And once you’ve realised that everything on the food-front is working, sit back and take a moment to realise that you’re sitting in heavenly silence over the crested turquoise waves. It’s a perfect setting and the chances are, you’ll have it to yourself. The Beach House redefines peaceful and its great staff will help you get there.

Ah. We shouldn’t forget. The coffee is excellent.
